D.J. Payne Corp.

Sales Staff Profiles

Our sales staff has some of the highest years of experience within the industry, averaging more than 12 years with D.J. Payne. We have represented some of our principals for almost 30 years, and over half of all for more than 17 years. Our sales staff has grown by dividing the distributors into manageable sales volumes. This enhances our value to the key distributors and creates more time for marketing and training their sales staff. Management and sales participate in forecasting and budgeting accurate and attainable sales goals.

Bob Sloma

Bob Sloma — "I began my career in the Foodservice Industry in 1979. I was a 15 year old High School student working at a four star restaurant in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago.

As I continued my education, I worked my way up through the ranks for the next nine years, learning every facet of restaurant management, both front and back of the house.

In 1989 I decided to pursue a career in sales, wanting to stay in the same industry, I interviewed with the Edward Don Co. My position lasted five wonderful years, when I was solicited to join ISP, an industrial supply distributor in Elk Grove.

A short four months had passed when my current employer D.J. Payne contacted me. I have been with Steve for the past 5-½ years."

Patricia Cadena

Patricia Cadena — (1985 – PRESENT) "Since joining D.J. Payne, I have held many positions:
• Customer Service / Customer Service Manager
• Office Manager / End User Specialists

Wearing so many hats at D.J. Payne has helped me to gain unlimited amounts of experience and knowledge. Not only product knowledge but in all areas of the business. As a result I was able to developed very good relationships with our customers which led to inside sales, working shows and making end user calls on behalf of, or with our customers.

• End user specialist
This involves more than making a call on a single product or following up leads. We truly do multiple sales to accounts that express an interest in one of our lines. It’s easy to sell someone you’re already selling and this is accomplished by having enough product knowledge to satisfy the customers needs and to gain their confidence by knowing what your talking about and how we can help them solve their problems."

Patricia is responsible for a few customers, which mainly cater to small Grocery Stores in the Hispanic market:
Los Dos Amigos, Martin Produce, Valdez, Inc.
